"A picture made Circa 1900 of the
Northern Pacific Lakeside Hotel and an old
locomotive in Hope, Idaho. Hope was a major
rail center, and its very existence depended
on the many trains that came through from
East going to the West Coast. There was a
large Chinese labor force in the area to
help with the building of the railroad.
Hotels, like the one pictured, could be
found all along the line to house railroad
officials as well as travelers." |
